Named after the Church of Saint Agapitos, the word 'Agapi' means 'love' in Greek — and the village lives up to its name. Hidden in the hills between two mountain slopes, it has been inhabited since medieval times and carries a warmth that's immediately felt.
Stone & Marble Heritage
The architecture follows Tinos' signature style: stone houses with marble lintels, arched passageways, and fountains with flowing spring water. The restored stone washhouse and the old village well remain among the most charming spots to discover.
The August Feast
Every August 18th, Agapi comes alive for the feast of Saint Agapitos. Long tables are set under the plane trees, wine flows freely, and live music fills the night air. Old friends reunite, stories are shared, and the spirit of community is renewed.
A Place to Feel, Not Just See
As the locals say: 'You don't visit Agapi to see something. You visit to feel something.' With only a handful of permanent residents, the village holds its identity with quiet pride — a place of dovecotes, valley walks, and genuine human warmth.
