Tinos has a local KTEL bus network connecting Chora (the port) with the island's main villages and most popular beaches. The Tinos bus routes cover five village lines and four beach lines, serving both permanent residents and visitors.
The central KTEL bus station in Tinos is located at the port, right next to the ferry dock, making the ferry-to-bus transition extremely easy. Tickets cost €1.80 to €3 depending on the route and are purchased directly from the driver.
The route with the most frequent service is the Porto line, with departures every hour from 07:50 to 22:00. The popular Pyrgos-Panormos line passes through some of the most beautiful villages: Tripotamos, Kampos, Tarampados, Kardiani, Isternia. For beaches, there are dedicated routes to Kolymbithra, Kionia and Agios Fokas.
During the summer period (25 July – 23 August), extra departures are added to many lines, especially the Steni line and Kolymbithra. However, for full freedom to explore the island — especially hidden beaches and mountain villages — renting a car remains the best choice.
