How it works
We pull live wind data for Tinos from professional meteorological APIs (Open-Meteo) and cross-reference it with each beach's geographical position. Beaches on the sheltered side of the island (opposite to the wind) appear as 'calm'. Updated hourly.
What is the Meltemi?
The Meltemi is the strong northern-northeastern wind that blows across the Aegean mainly from June to September. When the Meltemi blows, southern and southwestern Tinos beaches (Agios Fokas, Pachia Ammos, Kionia) are protected, while northern ones (Kolimbithra, Livada) get waves.
