Tarabados is home to the most impressive concentration of dovecotes in all of Tinos — and perhaps all of Greece. These ornate stone towers, dating from Venetian times, are decorated with geometric patterns and are recognized as UNESCO-level cultural heritage.
A Verdant Valley
Unlike the rocky landscape of many Tinian villages, Tarabados sits in a lush green valley that feels almost Alpine. Terraced gardens, olive groves, and fig trees create a gentle landscape that invites leisurely walks and peaceful contemplation.
Photographer's Paradise
The combination of ornate dovecotes, wild vegetation, and golden-hour light makes Tarabados one of the most photographed areas of the Cyclades. Sunrise and sunset here produce images that look almost too beautiful to be real.
Walking the Ancient Paths
Ancient footpaths crisscross the valley of Tarabados, connecting dovecotes, villages, and hidden chapels. These routes are part of the Tinos Trails network and offer some of the island's most scenic walking experiences.
