7 Hidden Beaches in Tinos That Only Locals Know About

Tinos hides some of the most stunning beaches in the Cyclades. While most visitors head to the well-known spots, those of us who live here know secret locations that are worth exploring.
Livada beach on the southern coast is a hidden gem. Accessible only via a dirt road, it offers crystal-clear waters and absolute tranquility. Bring your own umbrella and water as there are no facilities.
Stafida, near Panormos, is perfect for families. The shallow waters and sandy shore make it safe for children. On your way back, stop at the village taverna for fresh fish.
Agios Petros in the northwest feels like paradise. Large rocks form natural pools where you can swim even when the wind blows. It is one of our favorite sunset spots on the entire island.
Kolympithres remains the most photographed beach, but few know that if you walk 10 minutes west, you will find small coves that are completely deserted even in peak August.
Rochari, on the east side, requires a short hike but rewards with turquoise waters reminiscent of the Caribbean. Bring a snorkeling mask — the seabed here is teeming with marine life.
Agali, in the south, is small but gorgeous. A tiny stone chapel stands beside the shore, creating a magical atmosphere that captures the essence of the Greek islands.
Finally, Vai beach near Volax combines exploring the famous granite boulders with swimming. After the sea, visit the traditional basket-weaving workshops in the village.
Pro tip: Always check the meltemi wind forecast before heading to a northern beach. Southern beaches are much more sheltered during July and August when the Aegean winds are strongest.
