Tinos is a hiking paradise. Dozens of ancient trails connect the fifty-plus villages across the island, passing through dovecotes, small chapels, and elegant stone arched bridges.

Trail 1: Chora to Ktikados (Easy, 1.5 hours). Perfect for beginners, this path winds through vineyards and past whitewashed chapels. The view over the bay of Tinos is breathtaking and makes for incredible photographs.

Trail 2: Isternia to Ormos Isternias (Moderate, 45 minutes). You descend from the village to the beach via carved stone steps that have been used for centuries. At the bottom, a seaside taverna awaits with freshly caught fish.

Trail 3: Volax to Livada (Moderate, 2 hours). Starting from the mysterious granite boulder landscape, you end up at one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The geological formations along the way are unlike anything else in Greece.

Trail 4: Pyrgos to Panormos (Easy, 1 hour). The most romantic route on the island, leading through vineyards and olive groves. It finishes at the picturesque harbor of Panormos where you can reward yourself with a cold drink.

Trail 5: Exomvourgo Castle (Challenging, 2.5 hours). The ascent to the Venetian castle at 640 meters rewards with a full 360-degree panoramic view across the entire Aegean Sea. On clear days, you can see Mykonos, Syros, and even distant Naxos.

Tips: Start early in the morning during summer, bring water, sunscreen, and a hat. Trails are marked with red paint blazes on rocks and stone walls.
